The Board.

The Board of the Friends of Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park were voted in upon constitution in 2021.

We are continually looking for enthusiastic, passionate, and knowledgeable individuals to join our Committee. If you feel you could bring something to the group, or simply want to get involved, please do get in touch!

Joseph Greenlees
CHAIR

As a trained ecologist, Joe has been with Starling Learning since its creation in 1996 and is a co-founder of the community group Bulb, which transformed into Eadha. He is the current Chair of aspen charity Eadha and a project officer for The Yearnstane project, an offshoot of Eadha working on Rewilding and Restorative Agriculture.

Gerard Devaney
SECRETARY

Gerry’s early working life was in the sciences – initially as a School Laboratory Technician, and then as a Scientific Officer for the UK Ministry of Defence. However, these roles took him away from his real passion for the environment and conservation, so he returned to academia to study Conservation Management to develop his interests further. This has resulted in a now 25-year involvement in conservation. The bulk of this time was spent working for Councils in developing and delivering a range of environmental projects, primarily as a Greenspace Officer involved in relation to environmental improvements, community engagement on environmental issues, and also in partnership activities. His focus now is now more local environmental issues, and is currently working for Starling Learning and a member of the Yearnstane Team, which covers 10,000 hectares across three West of Scotland council areas. Keen on listening, composing and playing music, he also chases fish with a very limited degree of success!

Liam Anton
TREASURER

After graduating in Geology in 1988, Liam spent over a decade working as both Geologist and IT support engineer offshore and onshore UK, Norway, and USA. In a change of career, he spent the next 20-odd years working in IT for a global Investment Bank. After being made redundant in 2020, Liam followed his heart, and returned to college to complete an HND in Wildlife Conservation Management. Liam is involved with both Eadha and Starling Learning, and is passionate about the outdoors, natural history, and fly-fishing.

Ian Dippie
BOARD MEMBER

A lover of the countryside, Ian was brought up on Halkshill Estate near Largs, enjoying the freedom and wonder of nature on his doorstep, where his father was Estate Gardener. As an electronics engineer, his profession allowed him to sample many different environs in Europe and North America, yet few compared to the beauty and diversity found on the West Coast of Scotland; particularly the Largs area of the Regional Park. Now long retired, his interests are in protecting the Park from unwarranted development, encouraging biodiversity and wildlife, while promoting responsible recreational access. With so much to enjoy and learn from the natural world, his wish is to ensure future generations can share in similar experiences.

Lyndsey Murison
BOARD MEMBER

Lyndsey edits our quarterly FOCMRP newsletter and brings with her over 15 years of experience in community engagement and marketing communications within the voluntary sector. With a keen interest in nature from a young age, Lyndsey's love of the outdoors and Scottish wildlife has fueled her passion for sustainable living and is an advocator for climate justice and protecting the environment. In her spare time you will find Lyndsey outdoors with binoculars in hand exploring Renfrewshire with her border collie, or pottering in her garden trying to grow veggies and plants for the slugs!
